What I Might Tell You If We Were Stuck in an Elevator Together…

I’m a first year Master’s student in the Writing, Rhetoric, and American Cultures at MSU studying rhetoric and writing.
I believe that stories have weight and consequence, not just for individuals, but for the communities in which they circulate. As a Master’s student studying rhetoric and writing at a land grant institution, I feel that I have a unique opportunity to understand my communities’ stories—both within and outside the university— especially as they relate to my research interests. Right now, I am in the process of developing two projects. The first is an essay that explores the challenges of developing reciprocity in community partnerships as a graduate student. The second is a research project that looks at how universal design principles and inclusive tutoring practices can help Writing Center tutors develop best practices for working with writers with disabilities.
